About the Store

Daikanyama is the sixth location in Japan for The Conran Shop and resides in the cultural hub of the Hillside Terrace complex, joining a bustling neighbourhood of cafes, restaurants, boutiques and galleries. Taking a new direction from the traditional store concepts and encapsulating Terence’s ‘Plain, Simple, Useful’ ethos, this is The Conran Shop’s first locally edited store, showcasing a curated edit of pieces from creators and designers across Asia.

A serene minimalist and otherworldly space, the store is divided across two floors with a permanent retail space on the first floor and a tea bar and gallery on the basement floor below, constructed from warm muted tones and natural materials. The first floor features furniture, home accessories, kitchen tools and linen as well as clothing from an Akita based fashion brand. Music selected by Shingo Aoyagi from Art into Life record shop in Mashiko accompanied shopper throughout the interior.
