Pampshade is a unique Japanese brand created in 2016 by artist Yukiko Morita that creates handcrafted interior lamps made from real bread. The name Pampshade comes from blending the french word pain (bread) and lampshade. The lamps are created from surplus bread from bakeries to reduce food waste. 

Materials & Finishes: 

Bread lamps are made from real bread (baked using bread flour, cake flour, salt, yeast) which forms the housing for LED lights and power cables. The lamp is created by carefully hollowing out and applying a preservative with an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal coating. 

Each lampshade is naturally unique in shape, size and colour. 

Care Instructions 

Handle with care as each piece is fragile and comparable in strength and fragility to glass. 

Avoid allowing alcohol-based sprays or cleaners to on the bread surface, as they can cause the surface to become cloudy or discoloured.
